Introduction

On November 29-30, 2006 Bikol region and the rest of Luzon were battered by Typhoon Reming, leaving deaths and billions of pesos in losses to property and agriculture and hundreds of casualties and injuries. Naga City was not spared by the fury of Reming leaving 15 injuries, scores homeless and some PhP 1,071,395,447 Billion damages to households, infrastructure, school buildings, government facilities, agriculture and forest cover.

This report is based on a three-day field survey, and on information collected from site validations and interviews with residents of affected communities, and on secondary information from assessment of other offices/agencies concerned.
