Initial Activities

Task Force Initial Activities:

1. Solicitation of calamity assistance from all senators – sent out December 6, 2006.

2. Fund raising for rebuilding damaged public school buildings, target donors: all local banks in Naga City. Letters circulated December 6 to all banks

3. Fund raising from various private sources locally, nationally and from abroad – on-going.

4. Libreng welding sa Plaza Quezon – sponsored by the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers. Intended to assist padyak operators whose units were damaged to immediately resume their livelihood.

Priority Needs for victims of Typhoon Reming:

1. Food (rice, noodles, mongos and other non-perishable items)
2. Blankets, Mattresses, Mosquito nets, Cooking and eating utensils, gas stoves, slippers, clothing

4. Tarpaulin tents, GI sheets, construction materials
5. Toiletries (tissue papers, toothpaste, tootbrush, sanitary napkins, bath soap)
6. Cleaning materials (laundry soap, detergents)
7. Medicines
