GOVERNMENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (GIP)

GIP is a summer training cum employment program that seeks to engage the youth in constructive and productive public service to draw their support and understanding of government programs and projects.   It is open to the youth between ages 18 to 25 years under these categories:

 

  1. High school students; College/Vocational students to be recruited on the basis of their field of study

  2. Out-of-school youth who are poor but deserving

  3. College graduates with interest in working in government

A GIP trainee is entitled to an incentive of 75% of the existing minimum wage rate.  The training period is a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 3 months. 

Requirements:

  1. Duly filled-up Registration Form 09 (RKS) with ID picture  

  2. Duly filled-up Form 212 (bio-data) or Curriculum Vitae

  3. Other requirements of the government agency where the participant will undergo training

1.  Fill-up RKS

Applicant asks for a copy of the RKS and fills it with complete and correct information.

2.  Interview

Applicant undergoes an interview to assess qualifications for job matching.  

Applicant will be requested to come back on a scheduled date.  He/She may also be contacted by phone.

3.  Appointment

 

If qualified, the applicant is issued an appointment for 1 month.  The appointment indicates the office where the trainee will be assigned, along with the stipend to be received.

 

The appointment may be extended beyond the 1 month period.  A recommendation from the head of office, however, is required.

4.  Accomplishment Report

 

The trainee/intern submits 2 copies of an Accomplishment Report at Metro PESO every 15 days together with payroll for processing.
